I'm bringing the wovens back

They have a bad rap
oh yes, I am bringing the wovens back

Woven prints in last two years in the diaper world have been misrepresented. Sure, everyone has their preferences, but really when done right, woven print diapers rock.
Extraordinary fabric companies and designers like Alexander Henry, Amy Schimler, Robert Kaufman, Amy Butler and so many more.

I built my original fabric stash off of obscure fabric companies and ETSY with these companies. The main reason why I switched to knits is because the cloth diaper market called for it. I have realized over time that I decide what I create with and what I would like to work with is more of these prints. I was limiting myself with the "popular" shiz. Not that I am against knits! My fabric stash revolves around my taste. I love every single print I have, but I am limiting myself with knits and fading into what every other seller has.

So... I am going to do me. (Typed a crooked half grin) and OMG I am in heaven. Just you wait......

Getting My Sale On

All diapers listed at bubblebuttdiapers.com are on sale. $20 and under. Even the HTF Kumquat prints! and remember October is all about the free shipping!

I very much stink at blogging

I have been sewing like a mad woman the last two months. Both personal projects and diapers for sale. I am trying to work out a pattern for trainers. This project is long over due. Neither of my daughters enjoys wearing a diaper..ever.
Anyone that uses a Bubble Butt diaper knows I like em trim. So the trainers have to be even trimmer and yet effective at catching the little oops that happen.

I have also been working on clothing for the girls. I hope to make all of their spring and summer clothes.
I am what you would call pattern stupid, so I have to make all my own patterns. This has seemed to be a great thing for me. I end up with a better fit with every project and since I have learned the ins and outs of different fabrics I tend to have less adjustments to make.

As far as life, life is cold. The weekend was just lovely though. A pleasant 50 degrees and sunny. A wonderful change from the last few weeks. I was beginning to think that mother nature is not a fan of Wisconsin. I still have much yard work to get done before the snow hits. A big sorry man to the neighbor next door that mows his lawn at least twice a week and makes sure that EVERY SINGLE leaf is removed. I would rather play! Eh, the yard looks decent. The leaves haven't fallen yet so we are good. LOL Once they fall, they go in bags for the compost

As for diapers.. Here are a few on sale!

My Store Is Stocked

Between custom orders and playing outside with my girls, I have managed to make a few diapers. I will have a couple more up in size Large next week.
I am also stocking on the 14th of June at WAHM NATION! A congo filled with lovely crafters. We are all members at Cloth Diaper Nation. You should check it out, if you haven't all ready!

It's a Twofer!

First I would like to say, GOOD LUCK JESSICA! Her baby boy is due any day.

I have been taking it easy the past week. I love custom orders, but sometimes I need a break. I am still sewing of course. A couple of side projects for the house and a few diapers that I will hopefully stock someday. I have this thing about not stocking one or two at a time. Dont't ask me why
I really need to get dinner going, but I wanted to share a few from the last week.

About Freaking Time!

I love winter. I really do. I look forward to the first snow and maybe even the second and third. But this year I am over it. This year we were teased endlessly. A warm day here and there and then more bitter cold. and the flu that never ends..it goes on and on my friend.. TORTURE. We are not sick people. Well, we weren't, but it feels like we have been battling something or other all winter.
I keep saying winter like it is still February. It is April 17th.
So finally we get what we have been waiting months for. Not just sun, we have gotten plenty of that, but heat! 65 yesterday and 75 degrees today.

There was no way we were sitting home

Unfortunately it supposed to rain on Sunday and Monday. That's okay, we need the rain. Joe is off on a two week vacation. Our 9th anniversary is on Monday. We are spending the night alone. And for the rest of the week I hope to get some gardening done. If the weather permits...arg! Pirate Sara says it better.

I love this show

Lost is on, so I thought I would update my blog while I sit here. How is it that Jack, Kate and Hurley end up in a different place than the rest of the passengers.
hmm

Here are all the fitteds that went out last week.
A couple of them were hard to let go. hehe

I received a yard of fabric from a customer for 3 OS fitteds and that will be my next project for the week and hopefully a decent stocking of all sizes.

Thanks for reading!

Customs List

I am all caught up. I have a few packages to get out and then I will be focusing on getting diapers ready to stock in my shop. My fabric closet is over flowing. I am going to have a hard time deciding which prints to use. I love them all. I have at least 20 different prints that I have yet to use.. this is bothering me. LOL

I got a new sewing machine last week. Getting to know a new machine is a necessary process. It works the same as my old one, but we are not one yet. Ok that sounds silly. I have been using the other one every day for 2 years so it will take some time.

Customs

The regularly scheduled Monday stockings have not been so regular. A long customs list and having to be up at 6 am most days does not leave me with as much time to sew as I would like. I will have to skip this week, but hopefully I will have more up next week. There are still quite a few in stock

I have an order for 20 smalls that I have been working on. I cant wait to show them off. I think I will post what I have done tonight.

Here are a few other diapers that I have recently finished..

I made two patterns but I have to say, I like the sweetpea version a lot better. More room for movement.

I have been pretty busy since the last time I updated my blog.

and this just because it is cool. You wouldn't think it is common to see a halk in the city, but this one visits our neighborhood regularly. It was in my yard for about 4 hours
